Pregnancy is such a special time in a woman's life. To have another life growing inside you is like no other experience. To connect with your baby during pregnancy is truly sacred.
I am passionate about helping women have peaceful and joyful births and the best start in gently parenting their babies. I enjoy working with women who are open to the possibility that birth can be easy and comfortable, and who are willing to invest time in preparing for an amazing birth experience.
I also love working with other birth professionals in the community who are curious to learn additional ways to support their clients and patients.

Services to Support Women on Their Path to Parenthood
Hypnobabies® Childbirth Classes - Hypnobabies is a complete childbirth class that teaches women to use self-hypnosis for childbirth. This 6-week course offers women is incredibly thorough and is a wonderful way to prepare for an easy and comfortable birth experience.
Birth Doula Services - Women have supported women during childbirth for millenia. Birth doulas provide emotional, physical and emotional support during late pregnancy and during a woman's birthing time. I help women who have taken the Hypnobabies course as well as women who have taken other childbirth preparation courses.
Inspired Birth Coaching - Pregnancy can be an overwhelming period. Not only are our bodies going through some crazy changes, there are suddenly so many choices to think about and decisions to make, from figuring out if the doctor we've chosen is right for us, to navigating through various choices during birth, to figuring out whether cloth or disposable diapers are better! Life coaching is wonderful during times periods of transition and change, and with my "Inspired Birth Coaching" services, I can help you wade through, decipher, discard and decide on the choices that are the best fit for you, so you can enter the world of parenting with confidence and joy.
Prenatal and Postpartum Reiki Sessions - Reiki is a form of energy healing that deeply relaxing for the body, mind and spirit. During pregnancy, Reiki can help women relax in body and mind, and clients often feel a deeper connection with their babies. Reiki works by dissolving energetic blockages so the body can work optimally, and clients often report that it helps ease common pregnancy discomforts.
EFT Sessions for Easing Fears about Birth and Clearing Birth Trauma - The Emotional Freedom Techniques is a simple and profoundly effective way to ease strong, negative emotions. It doesn't require dwelling on the past or a vast number of sessions to find relief from fear, phobias, anger, anxiety or pain. Through a series of tapping on key meridian points and stating some simple affirmations, being led through an EFT session helps release disruptions in one's energy that causes negative emotions. I help women who would like to ease fears about birth or clear strong emotions about previous births.

In February of 2010, I attended a conference for the International MotherBaby Childbirth Organization (IMBCO), a wonderful grassroots organization that is working hard around the world to improve maternity services around the world. At this conference, midwife Ibu Robin Lim of Yayasan Bumi Sehat spoke about her organization and the work she has done in Indonesia at her birth center in Bali after the 2004 tsunami and in Haiti after the devastating earthquake in January. Ibu's daughter, Deja Bernhardt has created a 90-minute documentary called Guerilla Midwife that talks about Ibu's life and work. It is such a beautiful piece of work, and it also addresses the dire need for change in maternity care. Please consider donating to Yayasan Bumi Sehat. Money is currently being used for relief efforts in Haiti, and it also benefits Ibu's birth clinics in Bali and Aceh in Indonesia.
