Motherhood is a Journey... From the moment you find out you are pregnant, your life changes forever. Amidst the physical changes, you experience emotional and spiritual changes as well. It is amazing to think how a baby, who starts off so microscopically small, makes such a big impact on your life. During these days before birth, you may have discovered that there are so many views about how to have a baby. You may have seen the way birth is sensationalized in the media. You may be navigating through many choices and have received an overwhelming amount of information from friends, family, strangers, books and the internet. From all this, you started to create a picture, a vision, an intention of how you would like to have your baby. Then one day, you stumbled across some information online or met someone who suggested that you consider hiring a Birth Doula -- someone who would provide you with continuous physical, emotional, and informational support during your labor and birth. So you began your search, and here you are. My name is Darlene MacAuley and I am a Birth Doula and an Empowerment Coach. My mission is to reach as many women as possible who have a specific vision for the birth of their baby and who wish to be empowered and supported throughout their experience with the help of a Birth Doula. I serve two groups of women and provide: Education and continuous physical and emotional labor support to women who plan to
birth their baby in their home, a birth center or hospital in Austin, Round Rock,
or Georgetown, Texas.Business and Mentor Coaching to new Birth Doulas who are beginning to build their
practices and experienced Birth Doulas who want to take their businesses to the next level.
I work with birth professionals by helping them create a business that suits their lifestyle
and values. As a result, my clients get their businesses off the ground more quickly and
create systems for their practice that nourish them personally and professionally as they
support their clients prenatally and during birth. I am not limited by geography and am able
to provide coaching services worldwide.
Support for Expectant Mothers
I offer labor support services as a Birth Doula for women who live in the Greater Austin Area. My training and experience as a Birth Doula, Business and Life Balance Coach, and Reiki Practitioner provides my clients with an eclectic mixture of support during their pregnancies and birth experiences. Coaching is a powerful method of self discovery. Through active listening and effective questioning, clients describe where they currently are in their lives and with their business, identify where they want to be, and I help guide them towards action to move them toward their goals. Coaching helps people move forward into the future. I offer Business and Mentor Coaching for new Birth Doulas who are looking for help with launching their doula practices. I also support experienced Birth Doulas who want to expand their business or specify and target a particular niche. As an experienced business owner, I am able to assist these professionals who wish to build their practice in a way that highlights their unique gifts and shows their authenticity. I do not teach women how to be a doula. Instead, I encourage women to look within themselves, identify their deepest values, and build their business to best suit their personality and their lifestyle. By creating a business from the inside out, new doulas can create a foundation for their practice that will effectively support them, their families, and their clients.
